The first thing you need to find out is whether you are a candidate for the surgery. About 15 to 20% of patients are NOT good candidates for Laser Vision Correction. Often times, patients believe all they have to do is to find out what their glasses or contact lens prescription is and that will tell the doctor whether or not they are a candidate for the surgery. That simply is not true. Most free screenings are worthless in the sense that a free screening can miss up to 15% to 20% of the patients who are not candidates. That is why Dr. Maddox himself will evaluate each patient with in depth and multiple advanced technological studies in order to eliminate the 15% to 20% of patients who are not good candidates for the surgery.
